The things you tell yourself
when you’re alone, when it’s
quiet or if it’s after midnight –
those thoughts aren’t
warranted even if they feel
so real.
It’s not easy to listen to the
good things at these times, but
trust those tiny sparks of
good about yourself, hang on
to them because in the light
of day, it’s easy to see you
for who you really are – and
it is easier to remember you
were having a bad moment, and
this is not a bad life.
