Time shows us what really matters

There’s a picture frame bearing this quote that hangs in my kitchen. The frame holds a candid from my wedding where the ceremony has just ended and we’re walking back up the aisle. I’m cracking up laughing and a few people I love are in the outside of the frame. It’s one of my favorite pictures from that day, almost 7 years ago, because it truly captures today’s Monday Motivator. That photo represents time having shown me what really matters.

I often speak of getting out of my own way, and the rewards that come from that. My wedding day was one of those rewards. Hubbs and I have an interesting, twisty, complicated back-story and even chose God Bless the Broken Road as our wedding song! Our wedding day was the culmination of almost a decade of on and off, friends/romance vacillation, loss of loved ones and (feeling like) loss of sanity at times.

Time is what we needed. Time showed us what really matters.

Fast forward to today, and I still find this quote to be true. So many things in life, good and bad, are temporary, but it’s time that shows us what really matters. I look back at our last 7 years and like any relationship, we’ve had ups and downs, but time is still showing us that we matter.

As for the people in the outside of the photo, time has shown us that they really matter, too.

Thank you for being on this journey with me.
