The Kindness of the Internet

Most people don’t think that there’s a whole lot of kindness on the internet these days, but I have to disagree. Sure, I see the mudslinging that’s out there. I mourn the divided state of the US and my heart breaks for all of the unkind comments I see daily.

But that’s only the whole picture if you want it to be. I’ve been filled with kindness from the internet this year. Every incredible woman I interviewed on 2016’s Wine Talk Wednesday series (including our fabulous December guest who you’ll get to meet on the 28th) came into my life because of the internet. These women are from all over the world and thanks to the internet, are a regular part of my life. I’ve even met 3 of them in person!

In May, I started the Self Kind Tribe Facebook group. Over 6 months later, the group has truly lived up to its name and is a tribe of folks who genuinely support and care for each other. New friendships have been formed, and none of it would have happened without the internet.

The truth is that you can find kindness anywhere, if you look for it. <—CLICK to Tweet

As 2016 winds down, and you reflect on what the year has meant, I encourage you to look for kindness. Look for it in the super market, at your office and even on the internet. I promise, it’s out there.
