May I gently remind you of something?
You are Divine.
Not you are divine as in, “Damn! You are divine!”
Rather, you are Divine as in,
you are made from the same essence as the universe,
as the stars and the planets, each sun, and moon,
and spectacular nebula.
You are a cosmic soup
of beauty and light,
stardust, and a dash of twinkle to spice things up.
You are a little bit of all things
wrapped up in a singular, human package
capable of laughter and joy,
and giving – oh, the giving!
You are capable of giving of yourself in ways the stars envy,
for they can give only light and warmth.
You can give those and so much more!
How the stars wish they could offer
love and kindness like you.
How they ache to offer comfort in a time of grief,
or laughter in a time of joy.
Did you know you were the envy of the stars?
And what of the moon?
Even in her brightness and fullness,
in her strength to pull the tides,
still, she wishes she were as whole as you.
Still, she wishes she had the strength of your heart to love.
Still, she wishes she could be illuminated by her own light from within.
Perhaps it’s not envy they feel after all.
Perhaps the essence of the universe wished so much to give of itself in new ways,
wanted so much to shine and illuminate, and love in new ways,
that it gave birth to you; beautiful, twinkly, Divine you.
May I say, thank you?
