Love is in the air

Mention Valentine’s Day and you can get some pretty strong reactions from people. Folks generally fall into one of three categories:

  • Those desperately wishing they had their own funny Valentine…
  • Those frantic to dazzle that special someone with a perfectly planned and romantic evening…
  • Those who don’t buy the hype and avoid the day on pure principal or an unhealed heart not quite ready to love again…

Should you embrace Cupid and his sometimes wayward aim or avoid the Hallmark holiday like it’s the plague, there’s no denying that love is in the air.

  • Jewelry store commercials on an endless loop…
  • Millions of hopeful romantics searching for the perfect sentiments in the overcrowded, slim pickings, card aisles…
  • Overpriced flowers that require a small loan to purchase…

Maybe your calendar holds a heart lovingly sketched and traced over and over again because this is the day you’ll finally muster the courage to declare your undying love to a crush. Or, throw caution to the wind and take a chance on that potential Mr. Right who seems to always be in the wings just waiting to prove he’s the one for you.

This week is all about love, glorious loooooooove.

Showing love…

Avoiding love…

Receiving love…

And if you’re lucky, getting some love [wink]…

But let me ask you this…

Do you love yourself?

Because loving ourselves with all of our bumps, bruises, cracks, insecurities and weirdo awkwardness, is the greatest kind of love you can have.
