Not long ago I took a look at my life and started day dreaming about a life completely different from the one I was living. I was 43 and the life I desired from the time I was in my late teens had passed me by. I started to wonder why things turned out so differently and what it would be like to start over again. I was grateful for the life I had even though it wasn’t part of my master plan, but I still couldn’t help but feel like there needed to be more. I wasn’t feeling all the happiness I knew I could have in my day-to-day life. I knew I wanted a major change and was incredibly fearful of diving into the unknown. The most important thing I remember is that I knew in my gut this thing, this change, was going to happen no matter what, and it terrified me.

After a whole lot of hemming and hawing over my fears, and a whole lot more of dreaming about how awesome this new adventure could be, I finally made a decision to jump in, take a risk, and let myself be free to live my dream full time. It was astounding, the high that I felt, beginning a new way of living; not starting over, but using all I have learned to move forward in a way that my heart knew it would thrive. I said Yes! to me and with that came ecstatic, creative, inspired, and renewed energy that I was longing for so long.

As months passed, I learned so many things about myself, who I am, what works for me and what doesn’t. I learned to accept the things about me that I sort of knew were true but never cared to admit. I allowed myself to believe in myself more strongly than I ever have before. I learned to truly honor my vision and keep the vision real, nurturing it and protecting it like a newborn baby. I realized how incredibly important it is to have a tribe of supporters along the way to cheer you on when things don’t go according to plan. I also learned how to receive in more ways than one and to ask for help in times of need without shame or self sabotage.

I love my new way of living by listening, trusting, dreaming, creating, supporting and having passion for what is true in my heart. Yes! I GET to have this life!
