A Kindness Manifesto

Kindness isn’t about being a doormat.

Kindness is that special gleam in your eye when you do a little more than you have to.

Kindness is the way your spirit glows when you do something to brighten someone’s day.

Kindness is the warmth in your heart when you decide to remain anonymous, even when you’re being overly generous.

Kindness is finding what’s right when it’s too easy to point out what’s wrong.

Kindness is loving yourself first, so you’re healthy and peaceful enough to give joyfully to others.

Kindness is paying attention to the whole person behind someone’s words, even if the words are angry.

Kindness is teaching your children to be kind- even when you want to teach them to hit back.

Kindness is taking the time to say thank you- to God, to each other, to the Universe- every day.

Kindness is going a little bit out of your way to make someone else’s day a little easier.

Kindness is going far out of your way just to see someone smile.

Kindness is loving those who seem unlovable.

Kindness is honoring all people in all walks of life, regardless of how they treat you.

Kindness is considering the effects your actions have on the people around you- even if it’s inconvenient.

Kindness is not taking it personally when someone else is having a bad day.

Kindness is fulfilling your own potential. Playing small doesn’t help you or anyone else.

Kindness is loving yourself enough to know when to say no- and when to open your heart and say yes.

Kindness is loving others enough to let them save themselves, sometimes.

Kindness is all around us, every day.

Kindness is a lifestyle.

Kindness is love in action.

Kindness is always an option. You decide to be kind.

Will you be kind today?
