I know some amazing mothers. My own mother, her mother & my father’s mother (both of whom are no longer with me), friends, family, neighbors, etc. The list goes on.I know traditional mamas, non-traditional mamas, pet mamas, big mamas, small mamas, and soon-to-be mamas. Today, I celebrate all of you.I’ll be spending most of today with my mama. Her name is Diana and I think she rocks. She edits all of the incredible, inspiring guest blog posts on KOM, and we’ve been on quite the journey together for the past couple of years.

I recently wrote about our journey for a project called The Cord. The Cord is a project that celebrates connections. Connections between mothers, children, sisters, found-family… All of those amazing connections that make life worth living. I’m in love with this project and so thrilled to be a part of it. Most of us will honor our mother today, and this post is a small way of honoring mine, but I don’t want to stop there. I want to honor all of the amazing mothers I know and those I don’t know. You have the hardest job in the world. Whether you have 1 child or 19; 1 cat or a menagerie – Happy Mother’s Day from me and all of KOM.

To all of my KOM mamas of all kinds, I hope you experience kindness today, and every day. Know that you are loved.
