Friday's Lovelies

:: There are good things happening over at Indie Fixx this week! Everyone I’m sure has heard about the terrible earthquake in Haiti, it truly is heartbreaking, just devastating. The Red Cross released 10 million dollars yesterday with the help of regular citizens donating in $10 increments by texting ‘Haiti’ to 90999. Jen over at Indie Fixx is holding a Haiti Relief Fundraiser by auctioning off handmade goods where 100% of the proceeds will help with the efforts of the Red Cross. The handmade community is really stepping up, it’s so inspiring, for a list of places to buy that are donating to Haiti please visit sfgirlbybay’s short list or there’s a more complete list of donors here on Etsy’s Handmade for Haiti forum thread! Also the Winter Love Indie Fixx Galleria opened today!!! So many beautiful shops! I am both honored & humbled to have my shop be included among them. Follow Jen at Twitter or Facebook! ::

:: Today is the first new moon of the year, of the entire decade — a perfect time to sit & reflect on what you want to invite into your life. One way to do it is to join in on the fun with Jamie Ridler & create a dreamboard. This month’s full moon is known as the Full Wolf Moon because wolves are often heard howling as they search for food. Some suggestions on how to start making a dreamboard : Listen, be open, what are the things that are calling you? What does your heart desire? Is there a specific word that you feel drawn to? Get crafty, find old magazines, look at the photos, which ones catch your eye? Create a board around these things, let it become a reflection of you. :: How awesome are these?! I am absolutely smitten with this Polaroid Project by Danny Brito, an amazing illustrator from Miami! He is offering to do a 3×3 polaroid-sized custom drawing for you, wouldn’t they make the perfect valentine’s gift? I think so! So affordable too! You can check out the commissions that he’s completed for the project so far in his flickr set. Read his blog! You can also follow him on Twitter or Facebook! I will own one of these one day, oh yes, maybe a family photo once our next little light is born in the spring or one of my favorite photos of my love & I. How about you, do you have a photo that you’d love to see painted? Share it with us! ::
