Following The Breadcrumbs

You want something. Love. Money. Creativity. Minions. You set out on the path. Get in alignment. Dig deep into the recesses. Clear out the cobwebs of what no longer serves you. Do the work. Take the action. Sit back and wait for the goodness to show up in a cape, crown and feather boa.

And you wait. And wait. And wait. You don’t see it. All your energy. All your efforts. And nothing is showing up…at least not in the way you imagined.

Maybe frustration sets in. Doubt. Anger. Fear. You look around. Think on things. Work harder. Look for all that could be wrong. With you. With the world. With everything ever. Then comes the discouragement. Disappointment. Sometimes, even abandonment.

Here is the problem: After the action comes the treasure hunt. The following of the breadcrumbs… the trail of bits and pieces that is set out just for you. They are smiles from the hot bartender when you are looking for a deep and committed relationship. The five bucks you found in your pocket as you are building your empire. The flash of brilliance you had in the shower even though you haven’t written a word in weeks. They happen. They are meaningful. They are important. And they are so freaking easy to overlook.

Because we want the big picture, we stop seeing the the small one. We don’t see gifts that prime the pump. They are the first to show up. They get us on the magical wavelength. They are the initial fruits of our labor and without them to guide the way, the glorious end result takes that much longer. When we don’t see how what we want is showing up in bite size morsels then we let the whole process of creation get us down. But if you are willing to experiences these nuggets of goodness, then we can see how supported and on target we really are.

The trail of breadcrumbs is of our creation. Receive them. Use them. Appreciate them. Follow them. Invite them in. Revel in even the teeny tiny ways what you want shows up. Because it is showing up. Breadcrumbs are set down. We have to snatch them up… as they lead the way.
