Energy in Motion

Feel it. Whatever it is. The sadness. The joy. The anger. The shame. The ecstasy. Feel it. You cannot run from it. The energy will move with you until it gets to move through you. Feel it. It is all it wants. It needs no story. No explanation. The emotion, whatever it is, lives outside of the realm of logic. It does not need to know why. It is pure in its desire for experience, give over to it.

The precious mind wants to save us from the pain. It doesn’t understand that feelings are not who we are. We are not sadness nor are we sad. We are not even happy or happiness. Those are words to describe a moment, an emotion that is trying to flow through us. It doesn’t even come close to offering a snapshot of who we really are.

Emotions are an energy. Here to be embodied for a moment. When felt they transform back into neutrality, no matter how they start out. They are amazing. Ripe with purpose. They let us know what works. What does not. They guide us to the soul of ourselves. They are essential to the human experience. We don’t have to understand every bit of them… every why under the sun.

The feelings we deem as positive can come with their own set of challenges… not wanting to let them go. Not wanting to feel them at all as they are are fleeting. Perhaps even not sure if we deserve them.

Most folks experience a back log… old emotions that have been running along beside us. Wanting their birthright, to be felt. They wait patiently, or not. Emoting as they do. Letting us know in their own way that they are around. Attracting more and more like them so that a tipping point might finally be reached. Where we would have no choice but to pay attention. To feel, as they would have us do.

The more we feel the old, the easier it is to call in the new. To choose, consciously, what we desire to feel. No need to hold on. No need to spend the time and resources suppressing… depressing. Creation lends itself back to a familiar ease.

The invitation is to feel. Begin with what is present. And stay there. No need to dig. To force. Feeling is a process of being. The mind will try to chime in, “I am feeling this way because of this and it hurts and it that means that I am bad or good or whatever.” Just love it. Don’t fight it. But know that it is not feeling. It is thinking, which is lovely. But not needed to complete the task at hand. Acknowledge the mind and move back to the feelings. Find the sensation in your physical form. Allow the images and sensations to come forward. Breathe. Move. Hold yourself gently. Reverently. And feel.
