Don’t Make Me Chase You

Finding my footing
in which I had the look
enforced my beliefs that
I am not delirious.

Being allowed to feel crazy
took me to the arms of Orion
and led to the rides in a little red corvette.

There’s always some controversy
within the greatest romance.

But now I have come to finding extra time
and needing your…
kiss.

Discovering who I was
brought me to ecstatic dancing
in the glorious purple rain.

I’m led to go with the sign of the times
and finding my inner secrets
of maybe being like my father –
too bold. Within the hearts of the discontent,
we might wonder why we’re never satisfied.

But knowing we are all gathered to
celebrate this thing called life
brings forth inspiration.

It’s all been diamonds and pearls and raspberry berets
and my heart has been stolen by the thieves in the temple,
which I’m feeling like
I am the most beautiful girl in the world.

My journey has been as enchanting as the gorgeous night sky,
And I stop, and I breathe, knowing I might
have lost you by feeling fears trembled inside –
this is what it sounds like –
when doves cry.
