Courage

I come
awkward and
unsure with my
professional identity
spilling from my wild
woman-heart

deep-breathing
sea anemone
tendrils waving
inviting
connection

dancing between
open-heart presence
and soul-flight

ready to flinch
at first
contact

deep-breathing
sea anemone
seeking safe mooring

finding it
in the eyes of
women

strangers whose
names slip past
but whose
spirit I know as
well as I know
my own
