A Blue Trilogy

To M.

Women, flowers, children? No way-
Too many leaves around,
Leave her grass alone,
No stifling windows, no blue souls,
No skies, those blue shelters where
You saw her hanging around
With drunks, with vagrants,
And no food, no water, no quilts
If the night stops cold in rejections
From you, or the stars,
If the sky never a father dies,
If tomorrow she shows up,
All swank, and clad in silver-
Call her moon, call her fear,
The dawn of days in a jumble
Deserves only harsh blows,
Or a double latch, oh, isn’t she gutsy
To throw you shadows
When light in your pad sneaks out,
And fancy that, she throws her green gaze
To the missing, such nonsense,
Long story short, she gives you bit of a hassle
Now that you’re trying to hide,
‘Cause Eve took a bloody shortcut,
So children are born, and we all in the lurch,
Snatching our nights with heavy hands,
Gawky minds, to trudge through an ambivalent blue,
Where among books, grass, claims,
Lurks the keeper of trees and wrath-
Can you reach out to him?
Beware, they are not that akin,
Hers a blue from a risky genesis,
Yours just a cheap blue desire.

To Y.

Well, tales of seclusion and betrayal apart,
Why do they shout ‘No’ to light?
Go on, naked stares, go on, nights for endings,
Ask for some rest from a sick rampart
Of trees, axes, raw words blowing walls apart,
And who’ll silence them, who’ll light up
Your sky, middle-aged couples
Faking an all-consuming love,
A never-ending party of songs, tinkling glasses,
A gritty world of women, secrets, hidings-
No, you can’t breeze through tides of youth
Your wise soul sighs, if you ask the moon
To welcome shouts when prey
To loss and drought-
Mind you, her wrath won’t brush the grass
As the fields are set for a ride,
And shadows stalk days in a wild search-
Call her out now, lest the echo of births
Scatter you, or flowers diving in blue to trees,
Who knows, maybe it works out, if doubts,
Mantises, dragonflies daze you,
And white unpredictable hands are born
To show you the shadows,
The missing in your eyes
If another gaze holds light-
As it was early in a morning
Two thousand years old,
Same hands, same heaven where lights
Fade to black, as you bloody resent all lovers.

To M.M.

Do endless flowers wear out the light?
Just look at your hunger, fire,
Entangled with twigs, dry stubble,
Albedo all over your place,
Stretch marks in the sky,
Blooming trees and plants,
Can you see them?
Alright, Hades, cut it out, go snatching
Persephone, Eurydice, but give us back
The last missing man,
Lest you be fair game for guns shooting white,
You can’t believe how fast she aims,
Yes, she can’t stop, so try snatching just loose words,
But, beware, they’ve got a dirty habit,
Either they’ll carve your limbs,
Or snuff them in a grim silence,
An easy target for green, or stars-
Let them go, fire, souls in a drought
Of evenings barging in a dim light,
Of silent stones in a garth,
And who bloody cares if among stony skies
The air shivers, as the grass warns you
Against a light on a surprise visit,
Who bloody cares if words break up,
If dreams go hiding, if she on the lookout
Shuns your call, and loss is just a stranger
To her thoughts, so fair enough that light moves on-
Yet they step forward, such lost dreamers,
And you can’t do much, but breathe together
Just to take-
A new drug perhaps-
A mind running with clouds, your light in the blue
While angels so good at breaking in
Always sneak up on us with their light.
