I know, I know…there’s no time for you right now! It’s the holidays! ‘Tis the season of trees and toys and treats and trinkets. It’s all so lovely and beautiful. And yet, after the holidays…when everybody and everything has gone back to regular life…you’re left once again to face yourself. Is that when you’ll join a gym, do a cleanse, get your shit together “for real” this time and (lose that weight/get your cholesterol down/get in shape – insert whatever health issue you struggle with)?
What would it feel like, if instead, you were to pause for a moment, to breathe in the beauty of you? How about, after a season (and possibly a lifetime) of doing for everybody else, you took a little bit of time to do for yourself? Can you imagine what you could accomplish if, instead of looking for the quick fix for your perceived problems (generally revolving around weight), you took some much-needed time to look at your health in a different way? One that encompasses your emotions, your body’s needs, and the science behind it all. Because, don’tcha know…they’re all intertwined!
Have you ever been on a healthy path and then “something” happened? A health scare? A car accident? A change of job? A vacation? Suddenly you “needed” to eat…it was out of your control, it just happened! And the thing is, once it happened, you just couldn’t stop…you felt helpless and hopeless and all that you can hear in your head is “What is wrong with me?” Let me stop you right there because there is nothing wrong with you! You 100% have the ability and it’s not your fault; you simply haven’t been able to unlock your personal skill-set to make it all work for you.
My name is Lynn DeVasto and I am a Certified Health Coach. Ten years ago I lost 90 pounds. I was rocking it…I was a size 4 and I was on fire! Except really, I was just a hot mess. Since I was a little kid food had been my constant companion. I was an only child and a latchkey kid. When I was ten years old, I found my grandmother’s dessert cookbook and taught myself to bake. From that first cookie, made by my very own little hands, it was true love. Almost immediately all forms of sugar, fat and carbs became intertwined with feelings of security, comfort and love.
After I lost the weight I was left holding ALL the feelings and no idea what to do with them. On top of that, I had kicked my best friend (food) out of my life, so I had never felt more alone. And oh, by the way, it’s all well and good to tell yourself to “feel” your feelings and breathe through them…but I had zero skills; so the only thing left was the constant feeling of raw emptiness and isolation. There were definitely some ups and downs in the coming years as I learned how to deal with feelings and life without food as my constant companion. This journey is what led me to help other women find their path to healthy and happy.
Allow me to help you reclaim your time and space this coming year. Join me for a free 10-day Happy & Healthy New Year course. We begin on Monday, December 30 with daily love notes from me, coaching worksheets and journaling prompts so you can feel your best – both emotionally and physically. And the best part is that no detox is needed! I’ll throw in some bonus holiday goodies…because ‘tis the season!…starting with a BEAUTIFUL (if I do say so myself!) 366-page 2020 e-planner so you can start setting your course for whatever makes you feel your very best.
