Red String Theory

Red String Theory

Come dancing into your holy being
Stitched through with memories of our line
And never again from yourself fleeing
A crazy quilt of love and sweet piecing
Together from fabrics: homespun to fine
Come dancing into this holey being
Remember them, all our mothers seeing
Their daughters’, we both for completion pine
Steadfast, from ourselves not ever fleeing
Connect with the red thread of believing
Perfection is an imperfect design
Come dancing into you wholly being
Constant, life circulating, receiving
Your inheritance of the healing kind
That never leads you on a path fleeing
Oh, my sisters we must be agreeing:
To live into our matriarchal divine
Come dancing into your holy being
Never, not ever, from yourself fleeing

Victoria Fritz
Victoria Fritz has been a logophile for all of her life. Her love of words evolved into a love of writing poetry in the last two years. Never having been a poetry reader (until now!), Victoria finds writing in poetic form a natural way to process and express her inner workings and is hopeful that some of what she writes resonates with others. If you enjoy her work, you can check her out on Instagram. Victoria tries to post daily, but also tries to be gentle with herself when that doesn't happen. Some days she is kinder to herself than others, but with inspiration from Kind Over Matter it's getting easier.
