What I realized when I woke with the sun in my face

now is the time
to rest my
unraveling

curl up
and nap in
the many-colored
strands of me festooning
the polished oak floors
soft-bladed grasses
warm river stones
patchworking my
inner terrain

now is the time
to rest my
unraveling

accept that
I am undone enough and
take stock of who is here and
tangle myself in her strands and
notice what’s lost and
what’s found and
notice what
patterns are
possible

now is the time
to rest my
unraveling
