I love that Jenny chose this quote to go with her incredible picture. Can you believe that’s actually her friend’s garden??? Talk about becoming a lot. Amazing!
When Jenny and I started doing Monday Motivators together, I already knew that her photography was awesome, and I knew from working with Kristin, that the surprise art/quote combo arriving in my Inbox, worked really well for me. Thankfully, Jenny was happy to take my list of quotes that I love and match them with her beautiful photos. It really is like a sweet treat every time one arrives in my Inbox. Today’s is no exception.
Little by little, a little becomes a lot. What a brilliant quote! This is the kind of quote I might put on a sticky note somewhere, to remind me that that’s what life is about – progress, not perfection. As someone who tends toward perfection, it’s often difficult for me to appreciate the little things.
The flowers in Jenny’s friend’s beautiful garden were once just seeds and bulbs, and look what they’ve become. It can be easier to appreciate progress in hindsight, but what about right now? In this moment. Why should now be any different?
What little progress can I appreciate right now? Well, let’s start with the obvious – I have managed to not crash Kind Over Matter! WOO HOO! When I first met the amazing Amanda Oaks, and she taught me how to run the website, I was overwhelmed to say the least. I made my techie husband babysit me during my first blog post, and have only had 1 “holy shit I broke it” incident, which luckily the techie hubbs helped me fix! Little by little, coding the posts has gotten easier, I’ve gotten more comfortable updating other parts of the site and really feel confident in what I’m doing.
All of the little techie victories along the way HAVE become a lot. A lot more than I expected.
The little techie victories have also helped me find my voice and boosted my confidence. Turns out I CAN do this. I can write a few times a week, people do still love KOM and I can handle the technology side of it. That is quite a lot, and I got here little by little.
Thanks for being on the journey with me.
